NEVER buy an all-in-one board unless you have a definite reason (slim case,
artsy-fartsy box, etc...) they are not worth it. if something goes out,
you're stuck buying the parts anyway. further, as other people have already
pointed out, the "subsystems" are usually crappy and sub-standard. video on
shared RAM just sucks.

if you don't mind buying a new processor, i would suggest an A-Bit KT7A.
this also comes in a RAID version. it'll support T-Birds and Durons and is
quite solid and very good for overclocking (if you're into that...) i
picked mine up at PC Parts Express for $145. they also sell Durons for
cheap (@ $55 for a 750 mhz).

if you're willing to wait, there may actually be a decent all-in-one board
coming out. NVidia is ?working? (not sure if it's out yet...) on a new
chipset called the N-Force. it uses a unified driver for all subsystems,
video, sound, usb, etc... the sound is supposedly very good and video
performance is on par with a GeForce 2.

Subject: [EUG-LUG:3305] New Motherboard?

Hi, It is looking like I need a new motherboard for my computer. I
presently have a Asus socket 7 MB with K6-2 450 Amd chip. Would like
any suggestions on an upgrade. A friend of mine mentioned that a all in
one motherboard would be the best way to go. (i.e. audio and graphic's
card on board)

Thank You
