oh, like lightwave 6. nothing i've seen (which isn't much, i admit) can handle free-form point movement and placement. i rarely need to carve anything, just make a box with a couple extra points, move 'em around and suddenly i have a pleasing shape. it is surprisingly easy to come up with a completed model.
there are also a few games that i still play that probably won't make it to linux either (thief, thief 2, x-wing alliance), but playing games isn't that big of a deal. and, as far as i know or have seen, XMMS doesn't hold a candle to winamp for sheer expandability. not saying winamp is better (memory leaks out the ass!) but it has all of the features i want. i also asked about sound editing programs and such, but no one has replied (or knows what i'm talking about, or just plain doesn't use them...) so, until i find some programs that fit my needs and feature list, linux only gets half my box. sad but true. -----Original Message----- From: Mr O [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, October 23, 2001 8:51 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [EUG-LUG:3395] Re: the windoze XP-erience What 3 programs? Surely some alternatives can be found.
