actually, i'd like the one for openBSD.  jacob's been trying to get me to go
to openBSD.  i'm getting sick of it, so i figured i'd just give it a go so i
could start bugging him, instead of the other way around.

of course, if he's right. the man pages are just so damn good that i won't
have to bug him at all...

I find it easier to just build a kernel without IDE CD support and
with SCSI emulation and SCSI CD support.  

BTW, if you were using OpenBSD, you wouldn't have to mess with this
stuff,
because OpenBSD doesn't even have the notion of an IDE CD.  All
CD{R,RW}s
are seen as SCSI.
