Hey, I just got it working!  I used the dc driver as you suggested, and
once I'd figured out what was wrong, I made the de driver work, too.

I'd done something stupid... (-:

The problem was twofold.

    fold 1: The pf.conf rules were blocking ssh connections to the
        internal address.  Since NAT happens before filtering, that
        didn't work.

    fold 2: I have two firewalls.  The coyote box is still in place
        until I get the OBSD one working well.  The ssh host's default
        route is through the coyote.  So incoming packets come through
        the OBSD firewall and establish a NAT connection, and return
        packets go to the coyote who isn't expecting them.  Setting
        the default route to the OBSD box made it work.

Don't do what I did.  Find the FAQ entry first, then do "make build".
