Ah, found the answer. Local cabling places will do it apparently without
problems. (ValleyTel, probably Cascade Cabling, etc)

It will be at least one computer at the remote site, and the rest of our
network here.

Thanks for answering, Don.

Cory

Sorry, It's not that type of Fiber, you will have to check other sources, I
can't help you much there. Is this going to be a computer to computer line
or is there other computers involved.

Doh! Cat 5 is out. For the closer location it is 390ft door to door.
Coax
at 185m would probably do it. I'd probably need fiber for the other
possibility 2 blocks down.

Does "Evanite Fiber Corporation" run such cables?

Cory

You need to check the max lengths for cables. The most you can go with
cat-5
and ethernet is 100 meters without a repeater. Coax will get you farther,

I
just don't remember how far.

Anyone know how to get dark fiber around here? Or rather "dark copper".

A
friend in portland said he was able to pay a third party to get all of the
necessary permits and run a cable from one location to another. We want
to
run one across the street, or maybe two blocks down. This is short
enough,
I want just a cat 5 cable, or even coax.

Thanks,
Cory
