I think I've found all these. Oh, and I run RedHat. So you hate RPMs? I do a 
majority of my stuff from tar.gz. Even XINE. And it works every time!! KDE 
doesn't work? That's disappointing because it's what I've used all year. The 
whole NVIDIA thing....
It's my understanding that they can NOT open source the drivers because they 
don't actually make a video card. They make the CHIP. Big difference. ATI 
makes chips and cards therefore if they put out an official linux driver it 
could be open sourced. It comes down to intellectual property.
Um, what else? I dropped the SuSE 7.3 in favor of RedHat 7.2. I'd rather go 
find everything I need and know I can make it work than deal with all them 
"package managers". I can do so more freely in RedHat and I also know that if 
I compile a kernel straight from the tree it'll most likely work on the first 
boot.
