This is xawtv-3.66, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.17)
can't open /dev/video: No such device
v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway
v4l2: open /dev/video0: No such device
v4l: open /dev/video0: No such device
no video grabber device available

Now, one time I had to do a link /dev/video to /dev/video0 or something like 
that. I don't remember the exact details. It's been quite a bit of time since 
I've had to deal with it. Later on I'll probably just do as KBob suggested 
and compare my two kernels for the differences in what I've got compiled or 
not since the kernels are in seperate directories I should just be able to do 
menuconfig in two konsoles and make some notes. But if you have further 
info....
