I installed Debian Potato 2.2r0. Then I put some stuff in /etc/apt/sources.list and ran "apt-get update; apt-get upgrade". Many things were made newer.
But not the kernel. My kernel is still at 2.2.17, even though the only kernels on the debian mirrors are various 2.2.19-based things. Why? How should I upgrade the kernel? What other packages do I have to take explicit action to upgrade? Thank you from a Debian newbie. -- Bob Miller K<bob> kbobsoft software consulting http://kbobsoft.com [EMAIL PROTECTED]
