Boy has this one been popular :)
so.. I too think RMS is butting in where he is unwelcome. I feel its bad of
him to impose work, and his specific beliefs on others. If we dont have
anything about GNU on the site, we probably should, however this doesnt mean
that we should change every linux reference. I also dont think that we should
cater to any indivuals needs. RMS can say whatever he wants, infact, if he
wants to come here and talk for one of our meetings, that would be great, I
would welcome him.
As far as the linux classes part of the website, I cant remeber If I wrote
it or if larry did, but it wasnt classes on GNU, or opensource, it was
classes on Linux (which Ive never actually had the oportunity to teach, and
aparently we havnt had any students, except for the one or two classes larry
mucked up). The person in charge of the public computers/classroom is
completely against linux, he claims its not user friendly, and has no place
on the classroom computers, as long as he is in charge of the computers
there, I dont see much of any chance of linux classes. so im guessing that
EFN isnt really doing any linux classes, and we probably dont need anything
about it on the eug-lug website. Seth and Pat seem to feel that we may be
able to hold meetings there, im guessing some dust will need to settlle
before we can try that out. I think the Green Party place was kind of cool,
but parking was an issue, River road has good parking, but is a bit out of
the way, maybe EFN's new location will fit the bill better.
Ive been testing BSD (open BSD), but BSD isnt GNU, Open BSD, and FreeBSD are
,but BSDi, and NetBSD are commercial products (note to justin, metro-X, and
BSDi are commercial products, if you want to try commercial versions of
*nix/X, give them a shot. I have a copy of metrox somewhere, its about a year
old i think...
note to Rob: Welcome back, I think you've done a great job with the website,
and I think you have good plans for upgrading it. I hope you will continue to
do so, as I have every confidence in efforts.

note to Anne: Happy Birtthday :)

note to self: DONT FORGET THE POWER CABLE FOR THE LAPTOP THIS WEEK!
