Not at all, Leo -- lots of folks go for this sort of solution;
and even in business environments, you'll find bandwidth-sharing
and also piggybacking.  I'm no BSD guru, but with the 2.4 linux kernels
you can set up some easy iptables routing rules to do exactly what you 
desire!

You can also get fancy and piggyback for maximal bandwidth for any 
certain acticities
or just have a fail-safe fallback...  not so crazy.

So:  "Yes you can!"
