I think this has already been addressed at length by one of the Gnome founders.
"Based on .net" is a bit deceiving. I read the email that was linked to on Slashdot and K5 and what I got out of it was that the applications programming framework that MS is calling the .NET framework is being cloned (my word) for the Gnome project in order to leverage the technology to make programming for gnome as easy as possible and as language independent as possible. They are basically using MSes work and research to the advantage of Gnome. This does not mean that Gnome is a MS wannabe system or whatever. http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2002/2/6/133532/9138 TimH ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dexter Graphic" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "EUGLUG" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, February 08, 2002 10:58 AM Subject: [EUG-LUG:1550] Gnome to be based on .NET - de Icaza > Gnome to be based on .NET - de Icaza > http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/23919.html > >
