The mail server we run at Highspeed in Bend runs courier-imap.  I use it daily both 
with lookOut Express and Sylpheed.  However, Outlook Express has a lot of imap 
glitches that piss me off.  Sylpheed seems to use it just fine, but I don't recommend 
doing it over dialup; sylpheed doesn't have very reasonable timouts or something...
