Not yet for Sony, but Palm is changing; Sony's still using the old chipset, but at least they've got flashable system memory like most Palms... Visors are NOT upgradeable, and therefore one cannot put linux on those. From what I could find, it sounds like PalmOS version 5 is for the ARM (afaik)...
The models they currently feature on sonystyle.com: PEG-NR70/NR70V: 66MHz CPU, PalmOS 4.1 PEG-615C: (doesn't say but uses PalmOS 4.1) PEG-S360: (doesn't say but uses PalmOS 4.0!) and from brief googling: PEG-S300 (older) uses a 16MHz Motorola EZ Dragonball The PEG-S360 uses a 33MHz version PEG-625 also uses 33 MHz You might enjoy this article, it's old but talks about Palm going ARM: http://zdnet.com.com/2100-11-526283.html (from Dec 11, 2000) and this update: http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1105-814628.html (from Jan 15, 2002) Here's a memo that seems up-to-date: http://www.memoware.com/mw-fotw.htm yep, that's the last word... for now.
