I am curious. Red hat 7.3 suse 8.0 and mandrake 8.2
all have the 2.4.18 kernel. Has anyone successfully installed any of these on a
k6-3 proceesor. If any one tries and doesn't succeed try using nopentium
kernel option at the advanced install boot prompt or for suse its
equivalent. There is a bug between the k6 series and both some via and sis
chipsets that need it. Mandrake has a patch file for the chipsets and k6 and
k6-2 proceesors. I am still having problems with my k6-3 processor
however. I am continueing to search and follow various discussions looking for
help. I am considering debian as a way out or maybe slackware(?).
