What do you expect from slave owners who sign a document
that says "All men are created equal."? Of course it's
a game of illusion.

Capitalism is a tool. Like any tool it can be used for
"good" or for "evil". Capitalism, IMO, actually reflects the
will of the people more than any other system. Indeed,
it's one of the "grand illusions".

IOW, you're right, people have to be more conscientious
in their daily actions. People in general need to realize that
every action has a reaction. Is $.99 for a burger really a
good deal? People need to be better educated, or rather,
need to educate themselves better, instead of believing
what they hear, which is, of course, mostly advertisements.

Blaming it on capitalism, from what I've observed, won't get
you very far in this country, as most people actually believe
in capitalism, most more practically than philosophically,
since they don't think for themselves.
