Unless you just want a test drive w/o installing to HD, I'd suggest skipping
the NetBSD Live CD*. The regular install CD works much better and, once
installed, there are meta-packages that will fetch an entire GUI desktop for
you (see below).

Some of the meta-packages for NetBSD:
edesktop-1.0nb1:  The Edesktop meta-package provides a number of components
for an
Enlighenment based desktop, using other components of the NetBSD packages
collection.

windowmaker-desktop-1.0:  The windowmaker-desktop meta-package provides a
number of components for a WindowMaker based environment.

*The Live CD is not an "official" NetBSD release, just something that one of
the german developers threw together, hence the lack of language & hardware
options.
