Due out in the next release. What I do know will be available in the next release of XFree86 is the ability to resize your desktop on the fly. We're not talking Ctrl+Alt+(+/-) here either. As far as changing the drivers I believe you'll still have to restart X for that to happen. But it sure beats the pants out of rebooting the entire machine because you changed a driver!
