SAD to hear this from someone whom I thought was an important part of
the group; funny (well not funny but odd *human* quirk) how so many
people I've met in this life wait until it is "too late" to really
express themselves, and the issues they've been stewing on. I've lost
some great friends b/c they just didn't communicate, in a way that I'd
call "timely". I agree that the language used below is derogatory and
VERY judgmental... Now personally, I think we are supposed to be
judgmental, b/c our ability to discern is a GIFT to use as wisely as
possible [hopefully!]. I also think that VANITY, which in a way, stems
from EGO, is also a gift to be used with wisdom (increasingly so with
time, I hope!)... so I don't see a problem with thinking I'm the shit,
or that my life is great.
Why do you think that any one you speak with or to, does "not know God"?
Whether they sate that they are atheist, islam, or even satanic, if YOU
truly believe in God, then how could you think God would allow any
little thing in the world to be OTHER THAN exactly accord to God's plan?
WTF is up with that?? Why do you even bring up a twisted notion like
"If you valued goodness, truth, and beauty more than your own lives then
we could learn, work, and laugh together"
That is disturbed in my opinion. Did someone you love and trust
recently commit suicide? I sense tinges of emotional/psychological
turmoil in your writing, anyway. I hope for the best for you,
especially that you'll come to see that our group IS indeed the most
perfect expression that it can be right now -- and that as we
collectively try to "push the envelope", it CONTINUES to evolve as such.
Continually. This is my opinion of course, which if you are a believer,
comes directly from God through me to my keyboard, via my MTA and TCP/IP
to you. Holy Crap, it is. Crap I say b/c I am as imperfect as God will
have me be, and am constantly changing into a new form of imperfection,
which is at every moment my own perfection. I'd like to appologize
personally, right now, if my writing here offends anyone, especially
Dex. Why do you think this is not paradise? If you believe, you are in
Eden, no? Or do you think all my notions are evil seeds? Is everything
in your reality so polarized, as to be totally pure ("universal family
love in our hearts and minds--the kingdom of heaven on earth") or
totally evil ("indulge and empower yourselves")...?
Most of the Belief Myths, be they Christian, Islam, or otherwise, say a
lot about *starting* with one's self. I'm having trouble understanding
how it behooves free software activists to stop paying attention to free
software and start sending more rice and wheat to starving children.
However, I *do* understand that EACH of our own paths of discovery is
littered with obstacles, challenges, etc, and so it seems you have come
to a head with one or more of your own... best of luck and keep the
