Cooper, Are you SURE it's the BSA? This isn't normally in their scope. Would you mind telling me who you heard this from? I would expect this more from the ISC -- onto whose radar screen we have finally appeared: http://www.softwarechoice.org/track_key_procur_policy.asp (scroll about halfway down) Looks like they're going to paint it as a bill that gives "preference" to OSS. If that is all they can come up with then we're in pretty good shape. They also claim to be "reaching out to legislators" to "learn more" and urging them to reject the legislation. This is probably a reference to that pathetic visit that Krummel received from the Microsoft rep. They are weaker than I thought. I was expecting a far tougher fight than this. I think they're capable of far worse than what we've seen so far, and I wonder why they're not throwing more weight against us. At any rate, if these arguments are all that we're going to see tomorrow, I think we'll be fine for the short term. It will be interesting to see what they throw against us when the bill gets to the Senate. I just can't believe that they're not better organized than this!
