If apache-ssl has memory leaks you can restart it to clear those up.  If
the kernel has memory leaks, you have to restart it to clear it up
(reboot).  I run apache-ssl on one of my webservers without any
memory problems.  It is running woody w/ 2.4.(18-20) kernel.
