well... one good start is to subscribe to the hostap mailing list List-Subscribe: <http://lists.shmoo.com/mailman/listinfo/hostap>, <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> those links will help!
I still havnt gottn mine working in linux, however, Im dealing with a really old computers (which seems to only support 5V cards (these rangelan are 3.3V) However, the cards do work under windows 95, and 98 (This email is a testament to that!). Anyway with the hardware I have, and the lack of disk space, its nearly impossible to get this working (It might happen if I get a few spare weeks to do nothing but compile and troubleshoot!). There are a few drivers that may work for you. orinoco (modprobe orinico) wlan (I tried but failed on compile...) hermes (never really tried, but heard it may work) and ofcourse the best driver for this card (to enable it as an ap) hostap Good Luck, and let me know how it goes! If we hookup at a lug meeting I can help you get things going, and see what looks right and not right (BTW, Ive had mine looking like everything was correct (even showed the author (jouni)), but yet it did not function!
