If it is set to "Auto" already, try this:
iwconfig ethX essid uowireless channel 6 ifconfig ethX up ...where X is 0, 1 or whatever your card has. try pinging a UO IP, say a DNS server: ping phloem if that doesn't work, try getting a DHCP entry using: pump then visit http://128.223.216.1/index.html to Authenticate with your UO userID and password.
