This is very interesting. He is defining Greylisting as similar
to an automatic email acknowledgement system. However it does not
involve the user. Instead it utilizes part of the SMTP RFC 821 spec
that requires unknown sources of email [(ip,sender, recipeint) triplets]
to "451 Please try again later". When the MTA does, the email is allowed
through. He goes on to say that eventually spammers will start
adapting, however greylisting used in conjunction with other methods
makes adaptation very difficult. For instance, when an ip is
blacklisted, spammers change ips. However doing this means they are
refused by greylisting and have to exert more resources to resend mail.
