I was recently directly to http://www.fastmail.fm/ by some slashdot thread, which suggested it is good. If you want to try out a different domain name, visit http://simpsons.com/ and check out the list of domains (bounce.org, broken.net, danger.org, dangerous.net, scared.org, and typo.net stand out to me as fun) that are available.... And see https://www.hushmail.com/ for free *secure* email.
ciao Ben B PS - many of the free accounts use ads to pay for their services, so like any customer, choose wisely and support those you really wish to, as there are lots of good choices out there = ) I'd suggest *not* msn/hotmail, but then again, they do run bsd AFAIK. PPS - I believe they count you as a 'customer', whether you actually look at their ads or not, and I'd bet they report usage numbers to their advertising clients... so I'm guessing money is in their pocket per use, basically. Doesn't euglug have a jabber server running? Everytime you send | email with hotmail you send out MS ads attached to your email. They | may also show you ads while on the interface, I don't know. If there | are 3rd party ads, they are getting a lot of advertiser views and a | lot of dimes. There are many webmail services that provide the same | portable nature and that do not support MS. Check out myrealbox.com | for instance. They run on novell something or other. | | I don't see how using MSN Messenger would support them if you are | using a unix client, though. | | Cory | _______________________________________________ EuG-LUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mailman.efn.org/cgi-bin/listinfo/eug-lug
