What model?  I was pretty set on the Sony TR2's until I found my Fujitsu
P5020D.  I think it is a better value, unless you get an iBook  = )

PS - The intel 855GM chipset is not terribly-well supported in linux these
days, it is of the i810 ilk.  The future is bright, but far away -- Intel
has not been releasing their specs from what I understand.  I hear 1280x768
is not a VESA standard anyway...  beware of centrino in general.  Driver
progress pushes on, so do your homework on google, forums, and sourceforge.
Maybe you were looking at the Z1 or V505 models? Not quite sub-,
but they appear lighter than most notebooks.
