If you are on softraid I'd make sure you didn't compile in
support for IDE RAID controllers and be sure to compile in
support for the chipset as just an IDE controller. Then add in
support for software raid and raid 1. While you check that I'll
grab the latest 2.6 for my Slack box and see what I can break.
