Panther has no Disk Copy, but it should work from Disk Utility in the
manner described.

If you just wanna toss files onto a CD or DVD, there's Finder..  Drag
stuff to the blank on your desktop and drag it to the trash (which becomes
a burn icon)...

Video DVDs can be made with iDVD if you like.

Missing Media Burner came recommended to me, but I don't know if it does
not just provide an interface to cdrdao.  Either way, it's handy.  =)

Fink provides a cdrtools (I think it was) package.  Works just like in
Linux save for device spec:  cdrecord dev=IODVDServices -data ...
