Seems to me we've doen this before. Something to note is that we are not exclusively about linux, we are about OpenSource/OpenStandards. We support Linux, BSD, GNU/GPL. We can say we are about this or that, but my experiences with the lug suggest that we are about goofing off and having fun with simular/like minded individuals (uhh... pretty much like any group). We do various events to promote linux/gnu, and they are all about turning people on to the things we do/use, and have fun doing it.
I guess what Im saying is that we arent really a force to be recconed with trying to change the world overnight. were more of a lets passively show off how great linux/gnu/opensource is, how it can solve personal and business needs, and why its a good idea. As far as "what we do" and meetings and such, this is a basic breakdown. 1) we have weekly "clinics" where mostly we just goof off, show off new toys, get help with stuff, but the clinics are really about helping new users install/use linux/gnu. 2) Monthly meetings. well... they are kind of on hiatus... but we (in the past) have had monthly meetings for having demonstrations and guests speakers and stuff. Attendence at montly meetings has been good, but organizing meetings and a meeting place has kind of falllen to the wayside... 3) Events. We do several events during the year, some years we do more events, some less... We do the fair every year. We also do other local venues too, such as eugene celebration, ... As far as Neil is concerned, we feed him, and engage him in conversation too keep him from falling asleep during clinics!
