That's interesting. Why wouldn't they work on fat32 partitions, if I can mount those from Linux?
Microshaft pulls a funny with a few of the files. They *must* be located at specific places on the partition. Evidently their boot process doesn't use the directory.
Actually, if the source and destination partition for Windos are different you can use xcopy (or xcopy32 (?)) to transfer an entire win installation.
As I remember you need the xcopy32 version from the GUI to get the long filenames correct. The only file that doesn't xcopy is the swap file in use; but that error message can be ignored.
When you boot from the newly created win-partition you go through a not-
properly-shut-down dance and all maybe fine afterwards.
There are several options you want to use with xcopy (if interested I can dig those up from old notes --otherwise read the '/?' =help for xcopy
