I've been sitting on this and had half of an idea that this might be a fun little project to test some open collaboration on. Turn this into a virtual library module web app of some sort and treat it as a full blown project.
Did I jump the gun? I'm referring to the list of books I was going to post on the EUGLUG site with who currently has the book in their posession, a way to ping the current holder that someone wants it (a borrow queue), etc.
If a few people are interested, maybe we can talk about it and design it from a project development viewpoint, with specification, implementation, testing, etc.
For myself, it would be a fun way to learn more of the software methodology, for others maybe it will be a way to learn a little web programming. I'm open to doing this in whatever the webserver can handle. It is set up for PHP now, but it could be programmed in Python or Perl easy enough, or possibly JSP, etc.
Any interest, let me know.
