You're the first person to suggest so--others have suggested that I stay
far away from formac.  The same people suggested I stay far away from
Macally and they've been found to have been right.

I bet it's basically identical hardware to the EyeTV model.  (Same parts,
no idea if same OEM)

I need to point out that the direct export is misleading.  The EyeTV will
spit out MPEG, which Final Cut and Premiere both handle.  I bet they're
talking about using these with "live" TV, which isn't something you'd want
to do, really.

A guy I know from Elgato (not one of those who warned me that Formac was
not known for good support/service) scoffs at the video format specs. too.
The Formac device does have video output missing from the EyeTV device,
but I don't need that feature.
