From this article looks like 2.6.12 will be a nice upgrade. http://www.linuxworld.com.au/index.php/id;669959914;fp;16;fpid;0
It will include support for trusted computing and SELinux and Xen and Reiser 4. I've been reading about SELinux (security enhanced Linux) and I think it will be a great addition. Xen looks like it's going to work great too. I don't know exactly how it works. If you run Xen in a window or a different shell or what. I know you can be running multiple OS's which will be nice. I don't know much about the Reiser 4 system I sure it will only add to the popularity of GNU/Linux. I can't wait till the major distro's upgrade to the new kernel 2.6.12. Looks like Branden Robinson the newly elected Debian Project Leader is doing something. I don't remember a Project Leader being as quoted as him. From what I've seen he's starting out good. I think Debian is discussing dropping some not used architecures. I think this will be a good idea making Debian's release cycles faster. Some of the other Distro's are going to be slowing down their development cycles which which is a good thing too. From what I've read about Branden, I think he's doing a good job. Since Debian has some competition with Ubuntu. As quoted from slashdot "Even Bruce Perens has admitted that the "lack of a Debian release is becoming a critical problem"." I wish Branden Robinson the best. I'm sure he will work on getting Debian back to where it should be.
