Wow, BBEdit is $199 now! When I was a Mac programmer, it was freeware. The open source world is full of programmer's editors. Most of them run on OSX, and all of them are free and Free. If you want specific recommendations, let us know what features you want (or what commercial editors you've liked). We've got plenty of opinions!
