If the following invitation seems interestig we'd love to meet up with some of you down there. Bus Trip to Open Source lab Friday, September 30, 2005 Hey progressive / techie folks - Field trip time! Open source software's branding itself with Oregon, and vice versa. It's an as-of-yet little heralded issue that works hand-in-hand with what we progressives are trying to get done - people- owned, locally-grown prosperity. So we're pairing up with POSSE for a Bus Trip down to Oregon State's Open Source Lab! We're taking half the day off this Friday (Sept. 30) and enjoying a ride to Corvallis with electeds, the media, like-minded folks, and the best geeks in town (some of us are at least two of the four). Pizza, megaphones, the usual shenanigans. Meeting at 1:15 pm at Free Geek (1731 SE 10th), swinging by the State Capitol in Salem, slammin' OSU, then back up to Portland. If Seattle is Microsoft Town, and the Bay Area is Sun/Apple Valley, maybe Oregon can be Open-Source-Land. This is another step towards making that happen.
