It seems that the QA on Ubuntu is really not very good for amd64. Things
that don't get installed automatically seem to just not work very well (or
at all!) For example, the version of lynx provided by ubuntu doesn't work
correctly (though lynx-cur does..) mplayer-amd64 sig11s pretty quickly,
while mplayer does not, unless you run it from acidrip. dvdrip can't find
transcode sitting in the directory next to it--haven't sorted that one out
yet. Various programs just segfault immediately when run..
I've been noticing this over the past several weeks, and I wonder if
Ubuntu is really ready for amd64 as a result.
