What does that script actually do? (Mail it to us if you don't know.)
I'm thinking that either you don't need to run it or you should have
run it earlier in the process.
I personally use "cp" instead of "mv", then delete the pics from the
camera later on (after I'm sure I have good copies that have been
backed up) but I'm anal that way.
You might try using "cp" and see whether that helps.

Using cp or mv, the results are the same.
The file '/etc/rc.d/init.d/usb' is "to load your modules for your usb
devices", contains this documentation (see below), and the usage is:
"Usage: usb {start|stop|restart|status}"
