It might be interesting to see what the test would do for a newcomer to Linux, who hasn't already picked a favorite distribution. (Would the test even make sense to such a person?)
Being a newcomer (and the site being pointed out by kBob) I thought it might provide some insights into various distros available out there... I've been on DistroWatch and DL'd about 4-5 different ones, but was curious what this new site would bring to my attention.
My plan is to set up at home my own server and go with LAPP (postgres rather than mySQL) to mimick my environs here at work. My assumption was that I'd go w/ Fedora because that is what Intechgra uses, but my morbid curiosity keeps tugging at me to go with as minimal a distro as I can get away with.
Anyhoo, it recommended: Debian, SuSE, MEPIS, Mandriva, and threw in PCLinuxOS and Kubuntu as well.
I intend to do everything command line, so one assumption that I'm making is (and correct me if I'm wrong) that if I know the core of Linux, that this will (pretty much) transfer over to whatever distro I find myself dealing with.
