hello to every body im new to this groupe just found it about a week and a half ago plus i live in springfield Or. right now my linux machine is down :( (hardware issues) so i have this unfortunate displeasure of having to post on my windows based laptop ( under warrenty til its paid off then it's going linux :) wooohooo )
any ways the reason im posting is i have a strong interest in wireless networking im not new to linux by any means but then again im no guru either id like to help set up a community based wi-fi network in our area. in about a month i will be able to get some off the shelf access points wich id like to modify to set up a backbone to a network which everyone could access and enjoy or my second option would be to set up some linux based access pionts to do the job which i would prefer over the off the shelf units becuase .... lets face it linux is way better lol. any ways if any one is also interested in this let me know or if you have any ideas on which you feel would be the best way to do it or if ouy would like to help set it up feel free to let me know
