But it's not really wide open. It's a suburban environment with mostly single story buildings. There's lots of clutter from foliage, parked cars, and the big ass ego enhancement boat that your neighbor leaves parked in his driveway 9 months out of the year. You can probably get a suprising distance across that parking lot, but you know, no one is living in the parking lot. And if they are, they probably don't have
the wifi equipment necessary to act as a repeater :-). I just think the
length scales of a suburban environment don't work well with the length
scales of wifi. Maybe if everyone put an antenna up on the roof.
