Not quite. Onboard RAID typically has a BIOS to setup arrays. A
driver is needed by the OS so it recognizes the controller BUT
onboard RAID is like cheap modems. It works best with Windows.
Alot of the load is offset to the CPU whereas a true hardware
RAID controller will have its own processor. Thus my use of
WinRAID.
