All you using AbiWord... what format do you save your files in? I've
wanted to use AbiWord, it being a lot lighter than OO.org, but it hasn't
worked very well handling my OpenDocument files, which are most of my
documents.
Anybody found a solution for that?

as for word processing on OS Ten, "NeoOffice" is a port of OpenOffice
that is "better", I think tuned for aqua or something.
Don't forget AbiWord, from http://abisource.com -- they have mac builds.
