I agree -- and also support EFF, but when I was discussing charitable giving with some of my extended family, their investigations brought up some negative public image for EFF, which I hadn't heard a lot about... basically that they have a muddled history of losing cases, and thus setting some negative precedents.  I don't know how this is avoidable!  I'm certainly glad they're "fighting the good fight" so to speak.
