I don't think I would trust Oracle all that much as my OS and Database vendor. Oracle right now is having problems with Security issues in Oracle 9i/RAC and 10g/RAC. They don't seem to get security fixs out to people quickly. Oracle in the past has taken 6+ months to release a fix for X verison or there database software. I don't think they will be able to keep up with the fixes for a Linux distro as well. Oracle needs to fix there pricing model as well due to the fact that they have had, be it a small amount of clients move over to PostgreSQL and MySQL or DB2 (tremble). Oracle's licensing structure has changed I don't know how many times over the past 6 or 7 years. I think they will continue to move more customers off of Oracle and onto some other database platforms. I don't know what RedHat is going to do with JBoss other than try to sell it just like every thing else they have purchased. Larry Ellison is not some one I take very seriously other than his "The Paranoid Survive" quote.
