I'm more interested in seeing Microsoft's loss of market share.
Having commercial vendors offer something for "desktop linux
users" is encouraging. Grisoft.com has their FreeAVG for linux,
Nero has their software which I bought a license for, and Google
has ported Picasa. Having installed and played with Picasa on my
box I can say it runs quite well. It's a work in progress. That
probably won't stop me from using GQview and GIMP but it's fun
to have.

I'm also apt to play any commercial game that gets ported either
natively or with a wrapper. The more interest shown in those
products the more companies are likely to actively support you.
I'll stick with my Nvidia cards and my "tainted" nvidia driver
so I can enjoy my Free OS with my *gasp* applications that I
paid for. Just don't ask me to spend a couple hundred $$ on a
word processor. $20 on the other hand for a well developed app,
I'd do it.
