Depending on which version of mailman, you should have access to the template code for the footer and header of outgoing emails, there is already a hash variable unique to each recipient in later versions.

Long story made short: I want to put in an ID code into all the posts that the Mailman software distributes to the subscribers. Something embedded in there somewhere that maybe looks like a timestamp or whatever - I don't really care. Can that be done? I want to be able to identify the poster using this embedded code. Why? Because some AOL idiots don't know the difference between the "Delete" and "Spam" buttons on their computers and I'm tired of AOL sending me Termination of Service Notifications and I fear getting blacklisted.
I've had to deal with this. It's not fun and unless you're huge you you basically have to put up with what http://postmaster.aol.com/ can tell you.
Can this be done? Now that I think about it more, I'm not so sure knowing the ID of the poster will help - I want to know who pushed the 'spam' button... I want to know who received it, not who posted it... hmmmmmmmm...
