I installed NoMachine and was very impressed. I don't know if any of you have
tried it but here's a link which describes what it does.

http://www.nomachine.com/documentation/intr-technology.php

I've set up a lot of different NoMachine clients now. I was able to login to
my server full screen and it's as if I was sitting at the machine. Good
response locally. I've yet to try it remotely. They say you can run it over
a modem. I have Hamachi installed and tried to get a friend to get on but he
hasn't been able to yet. From what I've read so far is if you do vnc you
have to put the ip address with a :1 after it or Hamachi won't connect.

Hamachi is a VPN that's free to use.

If anyone has done NoMachine with Hamachi let me know how to get it working.
The windows client for Hamachi is great the linux side could be as nice as
the windows side with a little work.

My next project is getting openvpn working. If any of you have tried this let
me know what you think about it. Easy or hard.

I don't know if any of you laptop user have looked into truecrypt. If you
ever got you laptop stolen you wouldn't have to worry about the data on your
truecrypt drive. You can read more about it.

I haven't read anyone post about it so I thought I'd throw it out there for
you to check out if you haven't already.
