The hardware license revocation aspect also strikes me as being
fraught with the potential for exciting new forms of breakage.
Wow. That's all I can say is wow. Can you image what would happen if MS
ever really implemented the 'revocation mechanism'? The backlash would
be immense. I can't even image what the hardware vendors like Dell, HP,
etc. would do. Can you imagine the support costs?
"Hey, look at that. Microsoft just disabled all of the video cards we
ship in our Dimension 1100's. Oh, hey, our phone lines are full. COOL!"
