So, my Windows install is pretty well buggered thanks to a little root kit
named Game Guard. <sarcasm>What, Windows crash!? Never!</sarcasm>
My current Linux install (openSUSE 10.1) is getting a bit outdated and it
has a few rough edges.
Time for some nuke and pave action.

I have Mint (Dapper Drake, basicly) installed on my other PC, and it's
pretty slick. I'd like to install it on my main machine, but when X starts I
get no picutre.
Doing a CTRL + ALT + F1 gives me a beautiful scramble of colors.

I have Googled the problem and found many answers, but no solutions.

I'm pretty sure if I hook up another monitor, it will work just fine. ..I
think.
If that works, can I just install it and then adjust X afterwards?

FYI: I have a PCI-E ATI Radeon X1600XT w/ dual DVI. My monitor is an LCD.
