Have you heard about Mandriva Flash ?

It is quite nice. This is a 2GB USB key loaded with Mandriva 2007. This
is like a live-cd except that it is faster (reading on USB is faster
than reading on CDROM), and it saves the configuration for your
applications on the key. And there's some space to save your documents,
and install new programs. You can use any computer as if it was your
own computer :)

There's KDE, KMail, a PDF reader, OpenOffice, Firefox, and even compiz
for a 3D Desktop.
