Hey sure thing; I've not done this on FC5 or FC6 though :) libquicktime is what I think you'll want, at that point, any media players which can use it will do so, VLC or mplayer for instance. Dunno if you want the browser-embedded support, I prefer to load [non-flash] media outside the browser (could be more dangerous, tho, since media players have some hardware access, but should be okay if you know your sources).
As for quicktime, I suspect you're asking in order to enjoy movies from a digital camera? That should be pretty basic. There are some other cool QT tricks though, like QTVR. QTVR panoramas are just like a spreadsheet of images whose edges fit together, but the end-user effect of panning and zooming is really nice... I've even seen google maps .kml files embedded/linked from within QTVR's, as well as video clips -- way nice. you've won the daily double, here are my QTVR links: - Assembling QTVR Tour with Flash Navigation Tutorial<http://www.helloworld.se/tutorials/multinode_flashnav/> - How to Make a QTVR Object Movie<http://www.cyberbee.com/gotec/qtobj.html> - Gary Alexander - How to do QTVR object movies<http://www.gaspweb.co.uk/qtvr/qtvr1.html> - What is QTVR object movie ?<http://www.texnai.co.jp/eng/photoVR/note.html> - Making QTVR Objects<http://www.4directions.org/resources/features/qtvr_tutorial/QTVRObjectNeeds.htm> - How to Make a QTVR Object<http://www.dr-lex.34sp.com/qtvr/makeobject.html> - QuickTime VR: QTVR Object Movies<http://developer.apple.com/documentation/QuickTime/InsideQT_QTVR/2Chap/chapter_3_section_3.html> - QTVR Object Movie<http://www.ga.k12.pa.us/Curtech/instruct/object/index.htm> - Converting Your Linear QuickTime Movie to a QuickTime VR Object<http://www.ga.k12.pa.us/Curtech/instruct/object/conlinea.htm> - QuickTime VR: Creating QTVR Object Movies<http://developer.apple.com/documentation/QuickTime/InsideQT_QTVR/3Chap/chapter_4_section_5.html> - Using Make QTVR Object<http://www.edb.utexas.edu/teachnet/qtvr/MakeQTVRObject.htm> - QTVR Objects - Learning Module 5 - Using QTVR Software<http://www.ncc.sdccd.net/resource/objects/lm5p3.html> - QTVR Object viewed with PTViewer<http://www.path.unimelb.edu.au/%7Edersch/Car_PTMVJ.html> - Codecs - QTVR packing<http://www.edb.utexas.edu/teachnet/qtvr/Codec.htm> - QTVR Object Movies [Archive] - Kekus Digital Forums<http://www.kekus.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-1050.html> Well, well, well.
