Hey sure thing; I've not done this on FC5 or FC6 though :)
libquicktime is what I think you'll want, at that point, any media
players which can use it will do so, VLC or mplayer for instance.
Dunno if you want the browser-embedded support, I prefer to
load [non-flash] media outside the browser (could be more dangerous,
tho, since media players have some hardware access, but should be
okay if you know your sources).

As for quicktime, I suspect you're asking in order to enjoy movies from
a digital camera?  That should be pretty basic.  There are some other
cool QT tricks though, like QTVR.  QTVR panoramas are just like a
spreadsheet
of images whose edges fit together, but the end-user effect of panning and
zooming is really nice... I've even seen google maps .kml files
embedded/linked
from within QTVR's, as well as video clips -- way nice.
